Build a checklist from your own instructions

Start with the counselling bulletin and your allotted institution's reporting notice. Use the categories below as an organising aid, not as a substitute for the required list. Mark each item as ready, needing a correction or not applicable.

  • Exam records: application information, admit card, score record and allotment document where required.
  • Academic records: qualifying certificates and marksheets, plus any required transfer or migration documents.
  • Identity records: accepted identification, date-of-birth evidence and photographs in the prescribed format.
  • Conditional evidence: applicable category, domicile, disability, institutional, NRI or other quota documents.
  • Reporting records: payment receipts, prescribed declarations and medical fitness forms if requested.

Check details before the last day

Compare names and dates across documents. Check the issuing authority, certificate format, validity period and whether an original is needed. If something differs, seek the prescribed correction or clarification route before reporting. Do not alter a certificate yourself.

Keep originals together and maintain a separate set of clearly named digital copies. Avoid sending sensitive records to unverified contacts or public groups. Carry the number of copies actually requested rather than relying on another student's list.

Keep the evidence after joining

Retain a copy of receipts and any acknowledgement for documents deposited with the institution. Link this folder to your registration records and reporting checklist.
