Read the allotment details

Record the institution, course, quota, category and round shown in your result. Match them with the application and choices you submitted. Save the allotment document and the current reporting notice together so the deadline and location remain easy to find.

Check the rules before deciding

Acceptance, upgrade, resignation, non-joining and refund conditions depend on the counselling scheme and round. For example, the MCC 2026 bulletin describes restrictions after joining Round 3. Do not apply advice from an earlier round to a later one without checking the current instructions.

Make a written list of questions that affect your decision: what action is required online, where must you report, which payment is due and what confirmation proves completion? Use the contact given by the authority or institution for unresolved details.

Organise the reporting visit

Arrange travel only after checking the institution's reporting instructions. Bring the required originals and copies, payment arrangements and any prescribed forms. Keep receipts and an acknowledgement of admission or reporting; a successful online action may be only one part of the process.

If you cannot complete a step, record the issue and contact the relevant helpdesk promptly. Never assume that a deadline extension applies until it is published for your process. Continue with the document checklist and NEET UG counselling overview.
