About Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences, Sri Vijaya Puram
ANIIMS serves students and patients in Sri Vijaya Puram, the city formerly called Port Blair. Its current MBBS prospectus names Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Learning (NSCBIHL) for the incoming academic year. Older university references should therefore be read in their own batch context. The existing public URL retains Port Blair for continuity.

Choosing a medical college means choosing both an academic programme and the setting in which you will learn to work with patients. Evaluate the curriculum, the teaching hospital, supervision, accommodation and the admission conditions together. A low tuition figure does not settle the decision if the allotted category, residential costs or bond obligations differ from what your family expects.

Planning your next step
MBBS combines classroom learning, laboratory work and progressively supervised clinical training. The early subjects help explain normal structure and function; later learning connects disease processes, investigations and treatment with patient care. The usual structure is four and a half academic years plus a compulsory rotating internship. Match the timetable and examination rules to the university and admission batch rather than using a generic calendar.
