The NMC MBBS figure is annual approved capacity for a dated academic year. The MCC postgraduate number is the sum of category rows for the named branch in the specified quota matrix, including its PwD rows where present. It does not include all State Quota or other session seats. Do not add those two measures together and call the result the college’s intake.
For admission planning, match the exact qualification, examination and counselling session. Medical postgraduate and allied-health pathways are separate; a NEET-UG rank cannot be compared with a NEET-PG rank. Historical MBBS ranks on the Cutoffs page do not predict selection for any postgraduate qualification listed here.

These descriptions explain the discipline, not a promise about a specific procedure quota, daily case volume or guaranteed training outcome at Barasat GMCH. Only study areas matched to named qualifications in this catalogue are shown.
Read the qualification prefix before comparing two similarly named specialties. An MD or MS entry is a medical postgraduate degree entry; a DNB entry is an NBEMS qualification, and an NBEMS diploma is separately labelled. Sharing a specialty name does not make the awards identical. The catalogue preserves the labels from the counselling records instead of combining them into one generic postgraduate course.
For Barasat GMCH, the reviewed catalogue contains 4 postgraduate entries: 1 DNB, 3 Diploma. This is a count of named entries represented in the reviewed matrices. It is not a count of departments, a count of faculty members or the sum of all institutional seats across every admission channel.
Before selecting a postgraduate option, identify the qualifying degree, registration and internship conditions applicable to that route, then compare the specialty and institution. Follow the current counselling information for the actual eligibility cutoff date. Do not use an MBBS eligibility summary as a postgraduate admission rule or assume that a prior diploma automatically permits entry through every DNB pathway.
For an undergraduate choice, compare the structure of practical teaching, supervised clinical postings and assessment with the living arrangements available to you. For a postgraduate choice, ask about departmental teaching, case discussion and the way progress is reviewed. These questions are more informative than a single claim that a college has all facilities.
Course fees, examination charges and accommodation can depend on the qualification and cohort. A single number next to MBBS must not be reused for every postgraduate card. The fee and admission buttons on each card lead to the corresponding college section; they do not reserve a seat, create a counselling registration or submit an application to the institution.
