Hospital training environment

The published hospital directory lists medical and surgical emergency areas, maternity care, paediatrics, intensive-care units, dialysis, operating theatres, imaging and blood-bank services. Historical construction figures are not presented as a current capacity audit.

Clinical learning at GMCH Chandigarh

The academic college is attached to the Sector 32 teaching hospital. The 2026 handbook describes a tertiary-care teaching environment with inpatient, outpatient and emergency services, supported by clinical and diagnostic departments.

Evaluate the teaching timetable, bedside supervision, case discussions, simulation where available, community postings and internship rotations. A hospital’s patient volume or service list does not measure how much supervised work an individual student completes.

Ask which units are on the main campus, which require travel, how attendance is recorded and how feedback is provided. Postgraduate training also depends on specialty-specific case mix and faculty supervision.
