IPGMER / SSKM MBBS rank data

The following is a historical observation from the MCC 2026 Round 2 result. It uses All India Quota records that explicitly identify this college in the Round 2 institution column, including retained, upgraded or fresh allotments. Earlier-round records with a dash in that column are excluded.

Source: MCC Final Result UG Round 2 Counselling, 12 September 2026. The highest AIR is the closing observed rank in the extracted subset, not the final joined-candidate cutoff for the full admission year. Missing categories do not imply zero seats.

How to read the table

Lower All India Rank indicates a stronger position in the national rank list. Allotted category describes the seat, not necessarily the candidate’s personal category. A reserved-category candidate can be allotted an Open seat, so substituting personal category would distort the comparison. PwD categories remain separate.

These figures do not describe West Bengal State Quota closing ranks. State counselling uses its own eligible-candidate and category framework. Do not compare a state merit position, a NEET score and an All India Rank as if they were one measure. A prior allotment is also not a guarantee that the same rank will receive the same college in a later round or year.

Reading IPGMER / SSKM in this result subset

For the Open allotted category, the extracted records run from AIR 2,078 to 4,029 across 11 records. Those are the lowest and highest ranks observed in the selected Round 2 institution-column records. They are not a national qualifying threshold, the complete number of Open seats or a declaration that every candidate within that interval was admitted.

For example, a candidate comparing AIR 4,029 with this table must still match the quota, allotted category, course and round. The same numerical rank under another category or another admission channel is a different comparison. A candidate outside this observed interval should not interpret the table as an official rejection decision, while a candidate inside it should not treat it as a seat guarantee.

All rows use MBBS, 2026 MCC Round 2, All India Quota and the same extraction rule. The ordering is by observed AIR, not by educational quality. It does not compare fees, teaching, patient volume or student satisfaction, and it does not mix State Quota data into an AIQ table.

Why a cutoff can move between rounds and years

Allotment is influenced by candidate preferences, eligible-category rules and the seats represented in a particular round. Upgrades, reporting decisions and revisions to the available matrix can change which ranks appear in a later result. A movement between two rounds is not automatically a change in the quality of a college.

A meaningful historical trend needs the same course, quota, category, rank scale and comparable round for each year. This page does not manufacture a year-on-year line or candlestick chart from one result subset. NEET marks also should not be inferred from AIR using a fixed conversion, because the relationship depends on that year’s examination results.

Use the figures as one part of a preference list, alongside the programme, practical affordability and willingness to study at the institution. Check the current counselling round’s options before locking choices. A shortlist is a decision aid; the allotment process remains the authority for whether a particular seat is available to the applicant.
