Clinical learning in context
The initial permission and state seat-addition notice identify the new MBBS college and its approved annual capacity. They do not provide a measured hospital workload, current equipment inventory or hostel allotment list. A useful campus assessment therefore asks about the actual first-year teaching arrangements, laboratory and library access, clinical posting locations and accommodation terms for the admitted batch.
From classroom knowledge to supervised care
The MBBS learning pathway brings anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and the laboratory sciences into patient assessment and clinical reasoning. Ward, outpatient, emergency and community postings have different objectives. The amount and type of independent responsibility change with the phase of training. A student should understand the unit timetable, the supervision arrangements and the process for recording competencies rather than compare colleges solely by a hospital-bed headline.
