Lady Hardinge Medical College opened in February 1916 to expand medical education for women. The University of Delhi’s historical account records central-government management and undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching.

About LHMC New Delhi
The foundation stone for Lady Hardinge Medical College was laid in 1914, and the institution formally opened in February 1916. It was created to expand women’s access to medical education and has been affiliated to the University of Delhi since 1950.
Clinical teaching involves Smt. Sucheta Kriplani Hospital and Kalawati Saran Children’s Hospital. The latter began in 1956 and provides a distinct paediatric teaching setting alongside the broader clinical services associated with LHMC.
