About MAIDS and the BDS decision
MAIDS is a government dental teaching institution in central Delhi. Its first BDS cohort began in 1983; it became an autonomous institute under the Delhi Government in 2006. It is distinct from MAMC, although its history and campus are closely connected.
Choosing this college means choosing dentistry: patient communication, fine practical work and supervised oral-health care are central to the pathway. Compare the work you want to do after graduation before ranking a dental course alongside other health degrees. The second paragraph is student decision guidance, not an institutional performance claim.

Programme facts and their limits
The regulator’s 2026–27 MAIDS BDS record lists an intake capacity and permitted seats of 50, alongside 40 recognised seats. These are different register fields; this profile does not reinterpret them as identical or promise a particular quota vacancy. Use the current MCC matrix for selectable seats.

Admission: counselling first, university formalities afterwards
Qualify NEET-UG 2026. The DU bulletin specifies MCC counselling for both 15% AIQ and 85% Delhi quota. After allotment and college document verification, complete DU’s online admission registration. Eligibility includes age 17 by 31 December 2026; Delhi quota additionally requires the specified Delhi schooling conditions. Open-school/category exceptions need the exact bulletin and current NTA rules.
Registration is not an admission guarantee. Keep a written record of your selected quota, category and uploaded certificates. Check the current round rules before accepting, resigning or seeking an upgrade; do not transfer last year’s deadlines into this cycle. This is application-planning guidance, not a substitute for counselling instructions.
- Read the current MCC and DU instructions before registering.
- Use the correct BDS college/programme choice; MAIDS and MAMC are separate institutions.
- Keep originals and legible copies ready before reporting.
- Recheck notices before each round; a downloaded bulletin may later be amended.

BDS curriculum: from basic sciences to dental clinical work
The institute’s curriculum page progresses from anatomy, physiology/biochemistry and dental anatomy to pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, dental materials and preclinical work. Later stages include medicine, surgery and oral pathology, followed by the clinical dental specialties. The final year is compulsory internship.
Use the curriculum to assess course fit: manual precision, infection prevention, record keeping and explaining treatment to patients matter alongside examinations. These are learning considerations, not a claim about a particular student’s clinical privileges.

| Preclinical stage | Dental materials and practical preparation |

| Clinical study | Dental diagnosis and specialty care |

| Completion stage | Internship; completion requirements apply |

Duration and progression
BDS consists of four academic years followed by a compulsory one-year rotating internship. Plan living and study costs across the entire pathway. A timetable, supplementary examination or interrupted training can change an individual student’s completion date.

Postgraduate dentistry: a separate pathway
The official 2026–27 regulator register also lists MDS specialties at MAIDS. Their admissions, eligibility and fees require a separate postgraduate review; the BDS entry route on this page must not be applied to MDS. This revision does not create unreviewed postgraduate course relationships.

What the documented training environment offers
The institute describes separate undergraduate and postgraduate clinical areas, preclinical laboratories and specialty departments. Documented fields include oral medicine/radiology, surgery, prosthodontics, restorative dentistry/endodontics, orthodontics, paediatric dentistry, periodontology, oral pathology and public-health dentistry. Its infrastructure page also identifies surgery facilities, diagnostic areas and laboratory preparation spaces.
Clinical infrastructure does not establish how many procedures each undergraduate personally performs. Before deciding, ask about supervision, case allocation, posting schedules, logbooks and how competency is assessed. Patient footfall and individual hands-on exposure are different measures; neither has been quantified here.

Fees: what is known and what you must obtain
The current complete MAIDS college-fee schedule has not been verified. DU’s 2026–27 admission-registration fee is ₹1,000 for SC/ST/PwBD and ₹1,500 for other categories; it is not annual tuition.
Request a written breakdown separating tuition, university charges, deposits, instruments/materials, accommodation and mess. Ask which items recur, which are refundable and which are optional. Build a first-year budget and a whole-course budget separately. Do not multiply a one-time charge by every year or label a treatment tariff as a student fee.
This profile publishes no estimated college total, hostel rate, stipend or loan eligibility. Verify those with the issuing office before making financial commitments.
- College tuition/current fee circular — pending
- MCC registration/security — check the applicable round/category rules
- Accommodation/mess and dental materials — obtain separate written estimates
- Refund/resignation liabilities — verify before payment

Accommodation and student support
MAIDS lists separate hostel/mess provision through MAMC for students from outside Delhi, along with a library, canteen, auditorium, common-room lockers, recreation and a student counselling cell. These are reported facilities, not a room-allocation guarantee.
Confirm eligibility, availability, application dates, charges and reporting arrangements directly. If accommodation is uncertain, compare a realistic off-campus budget and commute before committing. Ask for written allocation information rather than assuming that an admission seat includes a hostel bed.

Questions students should resolve before applying
Is MAIDS the same institution as MAMC?
They are separate institutions. MAIDS teaches dentistry; its historical and campus connection is explained in About MAIDS.
Official evidenceWhere should I find the current admission process?
Read the Admission section and linked DU 2026–27 bulletin. It distinguishes counselling from university formalities.
Official evidenceHow long should I budget for BDS?
Use the five-year academic-plus-internship pathway described under Duration; individual delays require a revised budget.
Official evidenceDoes qualifying NEET guarantee a MAIDS seat?
No. Eligibility, the applicable counselling process and allotment still matter. The qualifying threshold alone is not a closing rank.
Can a Delhi address alone prove Delhi quota eligibility?
Do not assume that. Read the schooling conditions and exceptions in the current DU bulletin; confirm uncertain cases before choosing the quota.
Official evidenceIs the registration fee the tuition fee?
No. Treat admission registration, tuition, security and accommodation as separate budget items. See the Fees section.
Why are fees not estimated here?
A current complete college schedule has not been verified. Publishing a guessed total would obscure what you actually need to pay.
Can I use a previous closing rank to predict admission?
Use it only for context after matching category, quota, year and round. It is not an offer or a guaranteed admission score.
Does the hostel description guarantee accommodation?
No. Verify allocation eligibility, available rooms and charges before making travel or rental commitments.
How can I judge practical training?
Ask about supervision, case allocation, logbooks, materials and assessment. Equipment lists alone do not measure personal clinical experience.
Are the curriculum details enough to confirm the current timetable?
No. The curriculum explains subjects; obtain the batch timetable and academic notices separately.
Are salaries and placement promises verified?
No audited current placement or salary claim is published here. Request cohort-specific evidence before relying on a claim.
Are photographs or reviews being generated?
No. No fabricated student reviews, stock campus photographs or synthetic facilities evidence is included.
Where can I check official updates?
Use the source register below, the MAIDS website and the current MCC/DU notices. Recheck before reporting or paying.
Is this profile fully verified?
No. Selected academic/admission and institution facts have sources; costs, current cutoffs, outcome statistics and several operational details remain incomplete.
Source register and review scope
