Academic, practical and internship timeline
Course structures vary between universities. A common pattern is three academic years followed by one year of internship, giving a total duration of four years. Some institutions may organise credits or clinical training differently, so applicants must verify the approved regulations for their batch.
Clinical training should progress from laboratory demonstration and simulation to supervised patient testing. Rotations may cover EEG laboratories, neuromuscular laboratories, sleep laboratories, epilepsy-monitoring units, intensive care and operating theatres.
Ask where the internship occurs, which procedures are included, how many studies students observe and perform, whether a competency logbook is maintained and who supervises the training. A course that lists specialised tests without providing active clinical exposure may not build job-ready competence.
