Academic, practical and internship timeline
The current NCAHP competency curriculum describes DMLT as a two-year programme inclusive of six months of clinical laboratory posting. It requires a minimum of 80 credits and integrates theory, practical skills, supervised laboratory exposure and assessment.
Students must meet attendance, credit and competency requirements. The curriculum states that all requirements should be completed within a maximum of double the normal programme duration; that maximum is not the standard study length.
