Verify State Nursing Council or university approval, current intake and the additional qualification awarded. The clinical partner should have active cardiology and cardiothoracic services, adequate intensive-care beds, qualified nursing faculty and supervised specialty rotations.
Ask about patient volume, catheterisation and surgical exposure, nurse-to-patient ratios, simulation, preceptors, logbooks and assessment. A hospital name alone does not guarantee residency quality.
