Teaching hospitals and clinical learning
AMC’s institutional hospital page lists King George Hospital, Government Victoria Hospital, Government Hospital for Mental Care, Rani Chandramani Devi Hospital, Government Hospital for Chest and Communicable Diseases, Regional Eye Hospital and the ENT Hospital. The page describes a teaching network rather than a single campus facility. Its historical bed figures are not presented here as current hospital capacity.
For a student, that network raises practical questions about where each posting takes place, how the timetable handles travel, and how clinical responsibilities progress. Ask current students and the department office about supervised case presentation, outpatient exposure, procedure observation and access to teaching rounds. Patient volume alone cannot establish how much hands-on experience an individual student receives.
In a PG specialty, investigate the unit where you would train rather than relying only on the college name. Clarify supervision during emergency duties, rotation through relevant services, thesis guidance and the formal escalation process when a clinical question exceeds your level of responsibility. These are decision questions, not claims that a particular experience is guaranteed at AMC.
