AFMC Pune at a glance
AFMC was established on 1 May 1948, initially for postgraduate training. Its undergraduate wing opened on 4 August 1962. The college connects medical education with the requirements of the Armed Forces Medical Services, so a decision to study here includes professional service obligations as well as the academic course.

Academic context
The 2026 brochure distinguishes 145 Indian medical cadets, comprising 115 boys and 30 girls, from five government-sponsored foreign candidates. The NMC table's total of 150 has a broader scope than the Indian-cadet intake. The published service liability must be understood before accepting admission; this page does not quote a bond amount without the complete current terms.
