After an allotment
Verify the college name, specialty, quota, round and reporting deadline before travelling. Prepare originals, copies and the requested scans. Resolve name or certificate mismatches before reporting. A saved checklist on this page does not register you for counselling or reserve a seat.
Accept or act on the allotment within its stated deadline.
Obtain the correct college fee demand and keep the payment receipt.
Report to the notified venue with the original documents.
Complete institutional and university registration as instructed.
Apply for hostel accommodation separately; ask when rooms can be occupied.
MBBS document-format ambiguity
The college requests individual scans and one combined PDF on a pen drive, but its line on individual files mixes “PDF” and “JPEG” and a 200 KB limit. Confirm the accepted format before converting files. It also specifies 20 KB scans of the photograph, signature and thumb impression. Do not upload identity documents to this checklist.
PG and superspecialty reporting
For 2025–26 MD/MS reporting, prepare the MBBS degree, internship certificate, mark sheets, registration, relevant allotment and score documents, identity proof, payment receipt, and applicable service/eligibility/migration documents. The college asks for three copy sets and ten photographs. The newer linked MD/MS checklist includes a ₹40 lakh security bond/post-dated cheque requirement. The DM/MCh checklist additionally asks for PG qualification records, Hepatitis B vaccination evidence and a ₹50 lakh bond/post-dated cheque. These are checklist references, not a complete statement of enforceability, exemptions or service terms; obtain the prescribed documents for your batch.
Keep counselling and college reporting separate
First establish the applicable counselling route and register within its timetable. Read the eligibility and document rules before filling choices. After an allotment, follow the acceptance, payment and reporting instructions for that round; a college enquiry is not a counselling registration. Prepare the originals and copies requested by the actual joining notice, including identity, examination and qualifying-study records and any applicable reservation evidence. Keep acknowledgements and payment references together. If upgrading changes the allotted college, check how the reporting and refund rules apply before making another payment or surrendering an existing place.

Admission record context
The documented MBBS pool at Chengalpattu Medical College
The June 2026 state prospectus appendix records 100 MBBS seats for this institution: 15 all-India and 85 state-pool seats. These are dated allocation figures, not the current number of available choices. The September regulator total is also 100, but a capacity record does not identify a particular applicant’s eligible reservation or a live reporting deadline. An enquiry should retain the full institution name and qualification, rather than rely on a remembered abbreviation or another college’s notice. The allotted category and current round determine which supporting instructions apply.

Understanding the qualification and evidence
Identify the institution before arranging reporting
Reporting should follow the venue printed in the candidate's current allotment and the applicable institutional notice. A directory address does not create a deadline or prove that every administrative task takes place in the same room or building. An applicant can keep the college name, programme and allotment record together so that any enquiry is about their actual qualification and admission stage rather than a general promise of a medical seat.
Understand what the June seat allocation establishes
A prospectus allocation provides a dated reference. They do not show which choices remain available after a particular counselling round or whether a later revised matrix changes the position. The ordinary government-college state process and the separate 7.5% government-school preferential list must also be read in their own scope. Eligibility, reservation, choice filling, allotment and reporting each have their own record. A student comparing options needs the current round's documents alongside this institutional reference, rather than treating the total intake as a live vacancy display.
Separate ordinary records from conditional eligibility evidence
The prospectus distinguishes community, nativity, parent-related and special-category evidence, as applicable. It also specifies the government-school bonafide certificate for a claim under the 7.5% preferential provision and a valid parental income certificate where fee exemption is sought. These records support particular claims; collecting them does not by itself establish entitlement. A candidate should read the condition that applies to their own case rather than select a category because a previous year's rank appears more favourable. The requirement for a university eligibility certificate is also tied to the qualifying-board circumstances stated in the prospectus. Keeping conditional documents in a separate part of the application folder makes it easier to see which records establish ordinary academic eligibility and which support an additional reservation or financial claim.
Apply to the correct qualification rather than the whole catalogue
A learner interested in DMLT or medical-record training should not treat an MBBS counselling entry as an application to that qualification. The practical starting point is the exact course title and its current institutional or selection notice. This prevents a common misunderstanding in healthcare education: being eligible to research one qualification does not create eligibility for every award offered under a college's name. An institution can serve more than one educational stream while maintaining different requirements, dates and practical-training arrangements for each.
Complete reporting through the authorised process
After an allotment, the candidate needs to establish what the current reporting notice requires: the named qualification, institution, permitted reporting period, document verification and applicable payment instructions. A successful entrance result is not the same as an allotted seat, and an allotment still needs to be acted on in the prescribed way. MedCollege's enquiry form remains a separate guidance service. It does not register the candidate for counselling, accept the college's academic fee or issue an admission order. An admission decision should not rely on an old screenshot, an unrelated college's procedure or an unsupported assurance that a place has already been reserved.
Related educational context
Choice research and an actual allotment are separate stages
A college shortlist reflects the options an applicant wants to understand. It is not evidence that any of those places has been offered. Before acting, the candidate needs to identify the qualification, eligible pool and current counselling instructions that apply to their case. A preference can be based on location, documented costs, academic interest and residential practicality, but it does not create eligibility where a condition is unmet. This distinction helps a family discuss options without mistaking a conversation or an online enquiry for a reserved seat. The authorised allotment record, if issued, is the document that identifies the actual offer and the process through which the candidate must respond.
Match course names across the records
An abbreviated course title can be convenient in conversation, but the full qualification should remain consistent across the application, allotment and institutional enquiry. Medical Laboratory Technology, a medical degree and a postgraduate laboratory specialty are not interchangeable labels. The same applies to a technician route associated with emergency care and a postgraduate medical qualification in Emergency Medicine. Keeping the exact title prevents a student from comparing the wrong eligibility notice or paying attention to an unrelated deadline. It also makes an institutional question easier to answer: the office can identify the named award and session, rather than guess which of several healthcare pathways the applicant means when asking generally about medical admission.
Keep current instructions distinct from another student's experience
A previous student's account can raise useful questions, but it cannot establish a new batch's reporting dates, document formats or administrative requirements. The applicant should keep the current authorised notice with the record of the action they take. If an instruction is revised, the distinction between the earlier and later versions matters. This page does not create a new deadline or decide whether an individual document will be accepted. It helps the reader recognise which part of the process still needs confirmation. A concrete question about a named qualification, round and notice is more useful than relying on a general assurance that the procedure has always been the same.
Understand the next academic step before making a commitment
Admission is the beginning of an educational route, not a complete description of its later opportunities. A student can compare the qualification's stated purpose, the kind of study it involves and the requirements of any further course they might eventually pursue. A technical award does not automatically become an MBBS place, and an undergraduate medical allotment does not guarantee later postgraduate admission. These distinctions do not diminish either pathway; they help the learner select the route that fits their actual objective. The course and career sections explain the different directions in more detail, while the applicable admission authority and institution determine the current eligibility and availability for the named programme.
