About Medical College Kolkata
The college’s official history dates its establishment to 28 January 1835 and the opening of admissions to February that year. It describes the early teaching programme, the first student cohort and the development of its hospital buildings. This is Medical College, Kolkata, not Calcutta National Medical College.
The institutional history identifies the Medical College and Hospital building, Eden Hospital, Ezra Hospital, the eye-hospital building and surgical blocks within the campus. These are historical and service-setting references; students should check current unit assignments and rotation venues through their academic office.
