Admission routes

Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences is the private medical college on Junwani Road, Bhilai, Durg. It is managed by Shri Gangajali Education Society and is distinct from Abhishek I Mishra Memorial Medical College in the same locality. Its 2026 MBBS document includes a tuition and joining-payment breakdown, along with separate NRI reporting requirements.

MBBS entry at Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences follows NEET-UG and the applicable allotment process. Chhattisgarh DME administers the applicable state, management and NRI seat processes; no separate college or agent direct-admission route is offered. Registration, eligibility scrutiny, choice filling and reporting are distinct stages. A college reporting form is not a direct-admission offer.

The NMC matrix dated 18 September 2026 lists 250 annual MBBS seats under institution code CG/014/P/4. Annual capacity is not the vacancy count for a counselling round. The relevant authority matrix controls quota allocation, reservation, central-pool nominations and seats returned between rounds.

Do not apply a universal 85% state-seat calculation to this page. Central-pool and other allocations can have separate instructions. The current round matrix controls the seats offered; annual NMC capacity is not the round vacancy list.

Document preparation

  • NEET admit card and result/rank record; the correct counselling allotment letter.
  • Class X/date-of-birth evidence and Class XII subject/marks records.
  • Transfer, migration and character documents as required by the batch checklist.
  • Category, EWS, disability, domicile, income or special-category certificates applicable to the allotted seat.
  • Medical-fitness evidence, photographs, identity document and prescribed undertakings/bonds.
  • Originals, self-attested copies and readable scans in the number requested by the college.

Certificate format and validity can differ between AIQ and state processes. Do not assume that a state category certificate satisfies every central requirement, or that a general checklist replaces the college’s current reporting list. Bond obligations and withdrawal consequences must be read from the applicable admission-year forms.

Reporting and after joining

The 2026–27 table lists ₹8,63,000 tuition, ₹25,000 refundable caution money, ₹2,50,000 transportation and ₹3,02,700 hostel/mess. Adding those four heads gives ₹14,40,700. This is an arithmetic joining subtotal, not a quoted whole-course price. The college draft is ₹11,38,000 and the hostel draft ₹3,02,700; together they reconcile to the same amount.

Confirm the current reporting counter and travel arrangements before moving. The hospital, academic campus and administrative office may have different addresses. Obtain a dated record of originals handed over and confirm that joining has been entered in the counselling system.

Complete hostel formalities separately, attend orientation and understand attendance, assessment and student-support arrangements. Do not surrender documents or skip a deadline on the assumption that an upgrade will occur. For postgraduate entry, use the NEET-PG process and postgraduate checklist rather than the MBBS form.
