Thanjavur Medical College Admissions
MBBS: NEET-UG; applicable state / All India counselling
MBBS counselling
Candidates need the applicable NEET UG eligibility and an allotment through counselling. MCC and the Tamil Nadu Selection Committee administer different routes. Registration, document review, choice filling, allotment and reporting are distinct steps. An enquiry on MedCollege does not register you for counselling or reserve a college seat.
Reporting preparation
Read the allotment letter together with the current prospectus and college instructions. Check the reporting deadline, venue, original documents, photograph requirements and prescribed forms. The college homepage still links a 2025–26 certificate packet alongside 2026–27 information; do not silently reuse the older packet for a new batch.
Course calendar is separate from your reporting deadline
The homepage states that the 2026–27 first-year MBBS course commenced on 15 September 2026. It places the foundation programme from 16–29 September and core teaching from 30 September. At the profile review date, commencement is already past. Your own allotment and reporting directions determine when you must attend.
Keep your admission trail organised
Save the submitted application, locked choices, allotment order, payment receipts and any written clarification. Check names and dates against your certificates before submission. If upgraded in a later round, follow the applicable release and reporting procedure instead of assuming that an earlier acknowledgement carries over automatically.
DGNM government-college route · 2026–27
The state prospectus accepts women for government colleges and requires completion of 17 years by 31 December 2026. Selection follows merit and the applicable reservation rules. Thanjavur appears in its tentative institutional matrix. Read the full educational, nativity and category conditions before applying; these brief points are not a complete eligibility decision.
Allied-health diploma subject requirements
The 2026–27 diploma prospectus sets different subject combinations by course. Laboratory Science accepts the listed science/biology routes or the vocational Medical Laboratory Assistant qualification. Optometry requires Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with Biology or another subject. Check the full table for service-candidate distinctions and accepted qualifications; do not apply the MBBS entrance route to every allied-health course.
Keep counselling and college reporting separate
First establish the applicable counselling route and register within its timetable. Read the eligibility and document rules before filling choices. After an allotment, follow the acceptance, payment and reporting instructions for that round; a college enquiry is not a counselling registration. Prepare the originals and copies requested by the actual joining notice, including identity, examination and qualifying-study records and any applicable reservation evidence. Keep acknowledgements and payment references together. If upgrading changes the allotted college, check how the reporting and refund rules apply before making another payment or surrendering an existing place.
Evidence context: existing college material reviewed 24 September 2026. Added institutional context reviewed 15 October 2026. Individual tables retain their own source years; no new historical series is implied.
