Thanjavur Medical College Fees
MBBS: NEET-UG; applicable state / All India counselling
Government MBBS schedule · 2026–27
The Tamil Nadu prospectus supplies the following government medical-college schedule. It is a state reference, not a separately verified Thanjavur joining bill. Hostel, mess and personal living costs are additional.
| Component | Amount |
|---|---|
| Tuition | ₹6,000 |
| Special fee | ₹2,000 |
| Caution deposit | ₹1,000 |
| Library | ₹1,000 |
| University | ₹7,473 |
| Group insurance | ₹300 |
| Red Cross | ₹100 |
| Flag Day | ₹100 |
| Miscellaneous | ₹100 |
| Total | ₹18,073 |
Category schedules
The prospectus lists ₹18,073 for OC/BC/BCM/MBC, ₹12,073 for SC/SCA/ST and ₹10,073 for persons with disabilities. These are alternative category totals; do not subtract one from another. Have the institution confirm the applicable demand against accepted documents and any amount already paid.
PG and superspecialty charges
A dated Thanjavur PG or superspecialty joining tariff was not established. Obtain the applicable tuition, university charges, deposits and accommodation demand. The separate allied-health schedules below must not be applied to MD/MS or DM/MCh programmes.
Build a realistic personal budget
Use the calculator below to record confirmed amounts and your own living-cost assumptions. Blank inputs remain unknown. Keep one-time charges separate from monthly spending. If accommodation is not allocated, price a temporary stay and travel to the reporting venue before committing to longer-term lodging.
Ask whether a quoted figure is annual, semester-based or a one-time payment.
Ask which deposits are refundable and when they are returned.
Keep the payment instruction, receipt and admission acknowledgement.
Do not subtract a future stipend from money required on reporting day.
Allied-health degree tuition · 2026–27
Section 29 of the state allied-health UG prospectus prescribes annual tuition of ₹3,000 in government colleges. This is tuition only, not an all-inclusive joining bill. The prospectus exempts candidates selected under the benchmark-disability category from tuition and special fees. Confirm additional charges and programme availability with the institution.
Government diploma and certificate fee references · 2026–27
These are state schedules for the named course types. They do not establish a current Thanjavur vacancy. Laboratory Science is the state prospectus terminology; the college catalogue uses Medical Lab Technology. Confirm the course code on the allotment letter.
| Programme | Published schedule |
|---|---|
| Optometry diploma | ₹1,500 in year 1 and ₹1,500 in year 2 |
| Medical Laboratory Science diploma | ₹1,500 in year 1 and ₹1,500 in year 2 |
| DRDT / DRTT radiological diplomas | ₹1,500 in year 1 and ₹1,500 in year 2 |
| Covered allied-health certificates | ₹1,450 per annum: tuition ₹200, special ₹250, library ₹500, examination ₹500 |
Diploma in Pharmacy · government fee schedule
The 2026–27 prospectus lists ₹597 per annum: tuition ₹72, special fee ₹500 and caution deposit ₹25. Use the government-institution schedule, not the separately listed self-financing tariff. Accommodation and the actual joining demand require confirmation.
DGNM accommodation and other charges
The government-seat section requires joined students to pay mess and other fees but does not give an itemised Thanjavur amount. The absence of a quoted tuition total must not be advertised as free accommodation or a zero-cost course.
Build a cost sheet that matches your programme
Use separate lines for tuition, university or registration charges, one-time deposits, examination payments, accommodation, mess and personal expenses. An amount collected at joining is not automatically an annual tuition fee, and an annual fee is not the price of the whole course. Category concessions apply only when their conditions and documents are accepted. Keep any payment already made through counselling in the reconciliation so that the same head is not counted twice. A hostel deposit may be refundable under its own conditions; mess consumption and personal expenses should not be presented as fixed academic charges.
