Academic, practical and internship timeline
Duration is not universal. Programmes with the same or similar title may run for one, two or more academic years and may include different field-training periods. For example, a Kerala Department of Health Services syllabus describes a two-year DHI course, while other authorities publish their own structures.
The applicable prospectus should state semesters or academic years, theory and practical hours, attendance, field postings, examinations and maximum completion period. Classroom-only teaching is insufficient for an inspection-oriented qualification.
