Understanding the Radiotherapy Technology pathway
What is B.Sc Radiotherapy Technology?
The Bachelor of Radiation Therapy Technology (B.RTT) trains allied-health professionals to support safe and accurate radiation treatment, mainly in cancer care. B.RTT is the current degree nomenclature. B.Sc. Radiotherapy Technology may be retained only as an alternate legacy or search name.
Technologists work with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, nurses and other oncology professionals. They prepare treatment rooms, identify patients, reproduce treatment positions, operate authorised equipment, observe patients and document delivery. They do not independently prescribe radiation, determine dose or change an approved plan.

Entry requirements
B.Sc Radiotherapy Technology eligibility
Eligibility can change by admission year and candidate category. Treat the current official examination and counselling documents as controlling.
| Eligibility check | What the applicant should confirm |
|---|
| Qualifying education | Direct-entry applicants should have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognised board. The corrected framework does not support stating 50% as a universal direct-entry requirement. Applicants must verify marks, reservation and equivalence conditions in the relevant university or counselling notice. |
|---|
| Admission-year conditions | Candidates must complete 17 years on or before 31 December of the admission year. A medical-fitness certificate endorsed by a government medical officer is mandatory. Overseas applicants should obtain required equivalence. |
|---|
Stored course eligibility summaryTypical entry follows 10+2 or an equivalent qualification with the subjects, marks, age and entrance requirements specified for the programme. Verify the current regulator and admission-authority notice.
Academic scope
Duration, syllabus and learning areas
The exact syllabus, rotations and assessment follow the current regulator, university and institution curriculum. These are the major areas applicants should expect to investigate.
| Training phase | Major focus |
|---|
| Programme structure | B.RTT is a four-year programme incorporating classroom work, skills training, supervised clinical learning and a compulsory six-month internship of at least 720 hours. Internship exposure should include treatment units, simulation, positioning, planning support, quality procedures and radiation safety. |
|---|
| Academic and practical progression | Students maintain attendance, competency records and clinical logbooks and may be assessed through practical examinations, case work and supervisor evaluation. Students shall receive a stipend during internship. The amount is decided by the applicable State Allied and Healthcare Council; confirm the payment procedure with the institution. |

Fees, seats and admission details
Fees and seats belong to a college, academic year, category and source. A blank seat value means MedCollege has not stored a sufficiently current verified intake—not that the programme has no seats.

The first-year planning figure excludes a separately identified refundable caution deposit where the official fee schedule permits that calculation. A range means the amount varies by specialisation. The published total shown is the course fee in the cited notice; hostel, mess and personal expenses may be separate.
