How the admission process works

The draft proposes a merit-based process conducted by a state, Union Territory or university. A typical route may include registration, merit-list publication, counselling, document verification, fitness clearance and fee payment.

Until final adoption, existing state or university admission rules continue to matter. Do not assume that NEET, a universal entrance examination or the draft's exact percentage applies everywhere. Keep mark sheets, identity and age proof, photographs, transfer or migration papers, category or domicile documents and fitness records ready.

Before paying, verify the exact certificate title, current affiliation, sanctioned intake, clinical partner, internship arrangement and resulting eligibility for registration, employment or lateral entry.

Sources to check before acting

Rules, dates, fees, seats and recognition can change. Use the current official document for the admission year and keep the evidence supporting each important decision.
