What title does the 2026 draft use?

Diploma in Ophthalmic Assistant, abbreviated DOA. Diploma in Ophthalmic Technology remains a common alternate page title.

Is the 2026 curriculum final?

Two academic years followed by a six-month compulsory supervised internship or clinical-training period.

Does the draft require Biology?

It proposes Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics with 50% marks, but candidates must check the current approved admission rules.

No. Diagnosis and medical treatment belong to qualified medical practitioners.

Does every ophthalmic diploma provide B.Optom lateral entry?

No. The current university must recognise the award, accept the relevant subjects and credits and offer an approved lateral-entry route.

Check the awarding authority, current approval, course title, curriculum status, clinical exposure, internship and employment acceptance.
