Published pre-para-clinical electives
The 30 July 2026 notice scheduled Phase III Part I students of the 2023–24 batch for pre-para-clinical electives from 1 to 15 August 2026. Each student was to maintain an activity logbook signed by the allotted guide and countersigned by the department head.
The annexure covers the eight departments below. These are dated examples of organised teaching, not an open elective application or a fresh timetable. The notice says clinical elective postings would be notified separately.
Biochemistry describes laboratory support for inpatients and outpatients and teaching that connects molecular science with clinical interpretation. It encourages problem-based learning, practical investigation and research.
Microbiology describes work in infectious-disease diagnosis, antimicrobial resistance, outbreak investigation, infection control and stewardship. Pharmacology identifies rational prescribing and undergraduate research among its teaching priorities.
These are institutional descriptions from undated pages. They do not independently establish accreditation, current test availability or an audited service capacity.
The college identifies an associated district hospital at Handwara. Its Blood Centre page lists grouping and crossmatching, immunohaematology testing, blood/component supply, platelet-rich plasma preparation and plasmapheresis.
The Psychiatry page describes links with an Addiction Treatment Facility and a District Mental Health Unit, including psychiatry, psychology, social-work, nursing and programme-management roles. The Radiation Oncology page chiefly describes a faculty member’s qualifications and prior technical experience; that biography is not proof that every listed machine or procedure is installed at Handwara.
Service availability and referral arrangements should be confirmed with the hospital when needed.
