Academic, practical and internship timeline
The 2026 consultation draft describes four academic semesters followed by a proposed fifth-semester internship of 1,200 hours. If finally adopted by the responsible authority, this would commonly be described as two academic years plus a six-month clinical internship.
This proposed structure must not be confused with the currently published NCAHP bachelor curriculum, which is a separate four-year qualification. Students should obtain the exact semester, attendance, clinical-hour, examination, internship and maximum-completion rules for their admission year.
