Skills students should develop
Depending on the finally recognised curriculum and employer rules, diploma-level work may include authorised fixed X-ray, mobile or bedside radiography, basic radiological procedures, CR or DR, C-arm, dental radiography and fluoroscopy support under supervision.
The 2026 draft places CT and MRI outside the proposed diploma scope. Graduates must not independently interpret images, diagnose patients, administer contrast without lawful authorisation and medical oversight, or expose patients without a valid request. Adverse reactions, pregnancy concerns, equipment faults and unusual exposures require immediate escalation.
