Start with the exact programme and admission session

AIIMS Delhi admissions do not follow one universal route. Identify the full course name, campus, entry qualification and intake session before registering. A medical postgraduate programme, an undergraduate nursing course and a research degree require different preparation. The programme-route table is a starting map, not a substitute for the requirements of your selected course. This guide was reviewed on 13 October 2026; it does not publish a universal application deadline or a single eligibility percentage.

MBBS: examination, counselling and joining

For MBBS, separate the NEET UG application from MCC counselling registration. Completing the entrance-examination application does not automatically place a candidate into counselling. After the result, eligible applicants must follow the applicable registration, payment and choice instructions. Select AIIMS New Delhi explicitly when it is available in your eligible choices, and review those choices before submission. Seat allocation depends on the applicable merit, choices, category and available seats. An entrance-examination qualifying result alone is not a confirmed admission.

MBBS reporting: prepare for your allotted round

After allocation, read the instructions for your own counselling round and allotted institution. Keep the allotment record, identity documents, school records, entrance-examination documents and applicable category certificates ready. Do not reuse an earlier round’s dates or document instructions for a later allocation. Follow the current reporting requirements for document checking, medical examination, payments and joining. Hostel application is a separate step and should not be treated as a guaranteed room allotment.

MD, MS and MDS: use the correct qualification

INI-CET covers the relevant postgraduate medical and dental admission pathway, including specified six-year DM/MCh courses. MD/MS applicants must assess their medical qualification and internship requirements; MDS applicants must assess their dental qualification. A BDS qualification should not be silently replaced with an MBBS requirement in an MDS table. Review the session’s internship cutoff, registration conditions, category provisions and institute-specific information. Complete all required application stages and retain the submitted record rather than assuming that an initial registration completes the application.

Postgraduate seat allocation and acceptance

Match every preference to the correct institute, speciality and candidate category. Check whether your qualification meets the course-specific conditions before listing a choice. After an allocation result, follow the acceptance option, reporting instructions and deadlines applicable to that round. Upgrade, non-joining, resignation and subsequent-round participation can have distinct consequences. Keep a record of the option you selected and the required next action. Do not apply MBBS counselling rules to an INI-CET allocation without checking the relevant process.

DM and MCh: distinguish six-year and post-PG entry

The course title alone is not enough to identify the admission route. Specified six-year DM/MCh courses are included in the INI-CET pathway, while post-PG super-speciality admissions use INI-SS. For post-PG entry, compare your completed speciality against the exact feeder qualification prescribed for the course. The current INI-SS advertisement index includes 2026 sessions and January 2027. That does not establish an application deadline, feeder qualification or selection stage for every speciality. These details must be assessed for the chosen session and course.

Nursing: keep undergraduate and postgraduate routes separate

AIIMS nursing applications and allocations are programme-specific. B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing, post-basic nursing and M.Sc. Nursing should not be grouped into one eligibility rule. The examination portal records separate nursing-related notices and allocations. Applicants should check the precise qualification, registration and experience conditions applicable to their course. A nursing programme elsewhere that uses NEET or a state process does not establish the route for AIIMS Delhi. Keep your academic, professional-registration and experience records available where the programme requires them.

Allied and healthcare courses: check the subject combination

Allied programmes may differ in school-subject requirements, course naming and allocation choices. AIIMS published separate allied and healthcare allocation information for the August 2026 session. Identify the exact course you intend to study rather than applying a general B.Sc. rule to every option. If you are comparing two programmes, check the entry subjects, curriculum, duration and practical-training arrangements independently. A programme in the directory is not proof of an available seat in the current round.

Other M.Sc. programmes and research admission

For other M.Sc. programmes, check the course-specific qualifying degree and admission procedure rather than treating the M.Sc. Nursing examination as universal. For PhD or research admission, identify the relevant department, session instructions and qualification requirements before applying. Funding, project-linked positions and admission are separate questions. This review has not established complete current eligibility or selection stages for every M.Sc. and PhD option; numerical cutoffs and programme-specific guarantees are therefore omitted.

Documents: organise one consistent application file

Prepare readable digital copies and keep originals safely available. Common document groups include identity and date-of-birth evidence, qualification certificates and marksheets, examination and allocation records, photographs, and applicable category or disability documents. PG applicants may also need internship and professional-registration evidence. Treat this as a preparation checklist: the exact requirements depend on the programme and round. Check spelling, dates and document numbers across records. Resolve inconsistencies early instead of discovering them at reporting.

Payments, categories and reporting decisions

Distinguish examination charges, counselling payments, institutional fees, deposits, hostel expenses and mess costs. A payment made at one stage should not be assumed to cover another. Do not calculate a total using figures from different years or candidate categories. Similarly, a certificate accepted in one admission process may not meet the format or validity requirements of another. Before accepting, upgrading or withdrawing, check the conditions and retain acknowledgements. No unsupported fee, seat figure, rank threshold or refund amount is added here.

Common mistakes to avoid

Avoid using a historical reporting date as a current deadline, choosing the wrong campus, confusing a qualifying result with an admission offer, or assuming that all PG courses use NEET PG. Check whether your submitted application needs further completion steps. Keep personal notes on your selected programme, session, category and next action. MedCollege can help organise admission research; sending a guidance enquiry does not submit an examination or counselling application and does not reserve a seat.

Admission FAQs

Is there one entrance examination for all AIIMS Delhi courses?

No. MBBS, postgraduate medical and dental courses, super-specialities, nursing and other programmes follow different routes.

Does NEET UG registration also register me for MCC counselling?

No. Treat the examination and counselling applications as separate stages.

Does qualifying NEET UG guarantee AIIMS Delhi admission?

No. Qualifying is not the same as allocation or completed admission.

Which route applies to MD and MS?

The relevant AIIMS MD/MS admission pathway uses INI-CET and its seat-allocation process.

Is MBBS the qualifying degree for MDS?

No. MDS applicants must assess the applicable BDS and dental requirements.

Are all DM and MCh courses admitted through INI-SS?

No. Distinguish the specified six-year INI-CET courses from post-PG INI-SS entry.

Can I use another college’s nursing admission rules?

No. Use the requirements for the precise AIIMS nursing programme and session.

Do all M.Sc. courses use the M.Sc. Nursing examination?

Do not assume that. The admission route and qualifying degree must be checked course by course.

Does a listed programme mean seats are available now?

No. The relevant current allocation choices and seat information determine availability.

Can I follow the August first-round MBBS reporting dates?

Only if that notice applies to your allocation. Later rounds require their own instructions.

Which documents should I prepare?

Prepare identity, academic, examination and allocation records, plus programme-specific internship, registration and category evidence where applicable.

Is a category certificate from another process sufficient?

Not automatically. Format, validity and eligibility requirements can differ.

Is hostel allotment part of confirmed admission?

Admission and accommodation are separate processes; confirm your hostel application and allotment status.

Can MedCollege apply or reserve a seat through an enquiry?

A guidance enquiry is not an examination or counselling application and does not reserve admission.

Are current cutoffs, seats and total costs guaranteed here?

No. This guide explains routes and preparation; it does not create unsupported numerical admission claims.
