Frequently asked questions about AIIMS New Delhi
Is AIIMS New Delhi a government institution?
AIIMS New Delhi is an autonomous institution of national importance established through an Act of Parliament. It awards its own degrees.
Where is the institute located?
Its main address is Ansari Nagar, New Delhi 110029. Some associated clinical centres, including the National Cancer Institute at Jhajjar, are at separate locations.
How long is the MBBS course?
The AIIMS teaching information describes 5½ years including one year of compulsory rotating internship.
Is there a separate AIIMS MBBS entrance examination?
The institute’s teaching page states that MBBS admissions have used NEET from 2020. Follow NEET-UG and current MCC counselling instructions.
Are there 125 or 132 MBBS seats?
The cited 2023 source separates 125 Indian-national places and 7 foreign-national places. The combined historical figure is 132; the current authorised matrix controls this year’s admission.
Is ₹5,856 the current annual MBBS fee?
No. It is the sum of two subtotals in the 2023 prospectus and includes specified hostel charges and deposits. It is not a verified 2026 annual fee.
Are hostels available?
AIIMS has a hostel system, but accommodation is handled through application and allotment. Confirm your actual eligibility, room availability and current charges.
Is food included in the hostel amount?
The published Hostel Section fee page says boarding charges are extra. Check the current mess arrangement and rate separately.
Which route applies to MD and MS?
Check the relevant INI-CET session and AIIMS New Delhi prospectus. Do not assume generic NEET-PG instructions apply to these AIIMS courses.
Does the NIRF 2026 document prove a 2026 rank?
No. It is an institutional data submission. A ranking position must be checked against the published ranking results for the stated year and category.
Does the placement table guarantee a salary?
No. It reports historical aggregate outcomes for specified programme groups. It is not an offer, an MBBS salary estimate or an individual guarantee.
Are these real campus pictures?
Yes. The four photographs have credited creators, source links, licences and dates. They are historical views of AIIMS New Delhi.
How do I contact AIIMS directly?
