College selection
How to Choose a BASLP College
Compare RCI approval, university status, clinics, supervision, internship, cost and student support before deciding.
Content reviewed 14 August 2026 by MedCollege Editorial Desk · Dynamic dates, fees, cutoffs and seat matrices require current official verification.
Start with current RCI recognition
RCI advises aspirants to seek admission only in recognised institutions. Check the current regular-mode approved-institution list for the BASLP programme, academic session and intake. Do not assume that a university’s general recognition automatically confirms a specific professional programme.
Then verify the awarding or affiliating university and the exact course title. Save dated copies or screenshots of the records you relied on.
Inspect both clinical disciplines
A BASLP college needs strong audiology and speech-language pathology training. For audiology, review test rooms, calibration, diagnostic equipment, hearing-aid and implant exposure, paediatric services and supervision. For speech-language pathology, review assessment resources, therapy spaces, multilingual materials and the range of communication and swallowing cases.
Ask how many supervised cases students complete, how case records are reviewed and whether the clinic serves children, adults and older people. General campus reputation cannot substitute for functional clinical facilities.
Internship, faculty and daily life
Confirm where students complete the one-year internship, how rotations are assigned and who monitors competencies. Review faculty qualifications and stability in both professional areas. A low student-to-supervisor load, regular feedback and access to varied cases usually matter more than decorative infrastructure.
Also compare four-year cost, hostel, accessibility, safety, transport, language environment, grievance systems and student support. Speak with current students where possible, but verify important claims against official records.
