BASLP Eligibility in India

Check the current academic, subject, marks, relaxation and document conditions before applying for a BASLP seat.

Content reviewed 14 August 2026 by MedCollege Editorial Desk · Dynamic dates, fees, cutoffs and seat matrices require current official verification.

Current RCI baseline

The Rehabilitation Council of India B.ASLP curriculum framework effective from the 2024–25 academic session states that an applicant should have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board with a minimum of 50 per cent. It also states that the candidate should have studied any two or more science subjects. Relaxation may apply according to the rules of the university, state, Union Territory or Central Government.

This national professional framework is the correct starting point, but it does not replace the current prospectus of the university or institution conducting admission. Applicants should verify how the college interprets recognised boards, science subjects, percentage calculation, category relaxation and document formats for the exact academic year.

Subjects, marks and equivalence

Do not rely on an older article that lists only one fixed Physics-Chemistry-Biology combination. The current RCI framework uses the broader wording “any two or more science subjects”. However, a university may publish additional operational conditions within the permitted framework, so the current notice remains important.

International boards, open-school routes, improvement examinations and non-standard subject titles may require equivalence confirmation. Ask the responsible admission authority in writing before paying a non-refundable application or admission fee.

  • Confirm which subjects count as science subjects for that institution.
  • Check whether theory and practical marks are treated separately.
  • Verify category relaxation and the certificate format required.
  • Resolve equivalence questions before counselling or reporting.

Documents commonly checked

Applicants commonly prepare Class 10 proof of date of birth, Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate, identity documents, photographs and the application or merit record. Transfer, migration, university-eligibility, category, domicile, EWS, disability or medical-fitness documents may also be required.

Names, dates of birth and category details should match across every record. A correct academic profile can still be delayed if the candidate presents an expired, incorrect or differently formatted certificate during verification.

Official verification

Sources to check before acting

Rules, dates, fees, seats and recognition can change. Use the current official document for the admission year and keep the evidence supporting each important decision.
