How the admission process works
The minimum age for GNM admission is 17 years as of 31 December of the admission year, and the general upper age limit is 35 years. The applicable eligibility guidance provides no upper age bar for eligible ANM/LHV candidates; applicants should confirm how this exception is implemented by the admitting authority.
Students are admitted once each year. Selection may be based on qualifying-examination merit, an entrance or counselling process, or another procedure notified by the state, nursing examination board or competent authority. There is no single national NEET requirement for GNM admission.
The usual process includes registration, merit-list or result publication, counselling or allotment, document verification, medical-fitness clearance and fee payment. Applicants should track the official schedule and avoid admission through unauthorised agents.
