Eligibility checks before applying
Applicants must have passed 10+2 with English from a recognised board and obtained at least 40% marks in the qualifying examination while passing English individually. Candidates from State Open Schools recognised by the state government and the National Institute of Open School recognised by the central government are eligible when they meet the prescribed conditions. Science is preferable but is not stated as universally compulsory under the general GNM eligibility criteria.
Other eligible pathways include 10+2 with English and 40% marks in a vocational ANM programme from a recognised school, 10+2 with English and 40% in the Health Care Science vocational stream from a recognised board, and registered ANM candidates with a pass mark.
A 5% relaxation applies to SC and ST candidates under the stated general provision. Other reservations follow state policy. Candidates must be medically fit. Applicants should confirm the current category, disability, equivalence and document rules in the relevant admission prospectus.
