BAMS Admission Process

Follow NEET-UG, the correct AYUSH counselling route, choice filling, allotment and college reporting without missing a separate registration step.

Content reviewed 14 August 2026 by MedCollege Editorial Desk · Dynamic dates, fees, cutoffs and seat matrices require current official verification.

NEET and counselling are separate processes

BAMS admission uses NEET-UG under the current national framework. NTA manages the examination, while AACCC and state or UT authorities manage the counselling routes within their scope. Registering for NEET does not automatically register a candidate for counselling.

AACCC states that it conducts online counselling for specified All India Quota seats, Central or National Institutes, Central Universities and deemed-university AYUSH seats. State authorities manage the relevant state seats and may apply domicile or other local conditions.

Step-by-step admission plan

Read the current NEET bulletin, submit accurate information, appear for the examination and download the result. Then identify every counselling route for which you are eligible, complete its separate registration, upload documents and pay registration or security amounts only through the official portal.

Before choice filling, verify current NCISM permission, approved intake, university, ownership, fee category, teaching hospital, hostel, bond and location. Arrange choices in genuine preference order, then follow the round-specific allotment, willingness, upgrade, withdrawal and reporting instructions.

  • NEET-UG application and result
  • AACCC or responsible state counselling registration
  • Current seat matrix and participating institutes
  • Choice filling and locking
  • Allotment result and willingness option
  • Original-document verification and official payment
  • College reporting before the deadline

Avoid unsafe admission claims

Do not trust a promised BAMS seat that bypasses NEET or authorised counselling. Warning signs include cash guarantees, personal-account payments, pressure to surrender original documents before allotment and refusal to provide the official fee or refund schedule.

The allotment letter, college identity, candidate category, payment account and receipt should agree. Preserve every acknowledgement until admission and any security refund are complete.
