NEET-UG is the national BAMS entrance route

Section 14 of the NCISM Act provides for a uniform NEET-UG route for undergraduate Indian System of Medicine courses including BAMS. Candidates should use the current NTA bulletin for eligibility, application, examination pattern, syllabus, dates and result rules.

NEET qualification is only one step. The candidate must separately register for the applicable AACCC or state counselling process and satisfy its eligibility and document conditions.

How to read the result

The score is the marks obtained. Percentile expresses relative performance under the notified method. Qualifying status indicates whether the threshold for the relevant category was met. All India Rank orders candidates for processes that use it. A college closing rank is the last allotted rank for a specific year, authority, round, quota, category and seat type.

These values are not interchangeable. A qualifying percentile cannot predict admission to a particular college, and a closing rank from a deemed-university seat cannot be used as if it were a government AIQ seat.

Preparation and counselling planning

Follow the current NEET syllabus and build strong Physics, Chemistry and Biology fundamentals. Use timed practice and official notices for examination-day rules. At the same time, prepare counselling documents and research colleges so that the result period is not wasted.

Historical closing ranks can help create a broad choice list, but seat matrices and competition change. Include aspirational, realistic and safer preferences while still ordering every choice by genuine preference.
