MBBS: NEET-UG, CMC category conditions and applicable Tamil Nadu counselling

Start on CMC’s official admissions portal and open the bulletin for your exact programme. MBBS, medical PG, nursing and allied-health applications are separate routes. A registration for an entrance examination is not the same as a college or counselling application.
For MBBS, the 2026–27 prospectus uses NEET-UG merit and describes management and government categories. Read CMC’s instructions alongside the Tamil Nadu Selection Committee documents. Do not assume that a general all-India counselling registration completes CMC’s requirements.
- Confirm school subjects, marks, age, nationality and category eligibility against the current bulletin.
- Complete the entrance-examination process required for the programme.
- Complete the CMC application and any required supporting-category procedure within its own dates.
- Register for the applicable counselling process and read its prospectus before entering choices.
- Check category, campus, course code, fees and service conditions before locking a choice.
- Download the official allotment or selection result and follow its joining instructions.
- Report at the stated campus, submit documents as instructed and collect receipts and an acknowledgement.

Read the service agreement before accepting a seat
The prospectus describes a minimum two-year service obligation for undergraduate degree courses and GNM. Medical postgraduate obligations depend on category and course. Obtain the actual agreement and ask when service starts, where it may be completed, and how it affects later study. Do not assume it can simply be replaced with a payment.

Keep counselling and college reporting separate
First establish the applicable counselling route and register within its timetable. Read the eligibility and document rules before filling choices. After an allotment, follow the acceptance, payment and reporting instructions for that round; a college enquiry is not a counselling registration. Prepare the originals and copies requested by the actual joining notice, including identity, examination and qualifying-study records and any applicable reservation evidence. Keep acknowledgements and payment references together. If upgrading changes the allotted college, check how the reporting and refund rules apply before making another payment or surrendering an existing place.
