CMC Vellore Highlights
MBBS: NEET-UG, CMC category conditions and applicable Tamil Nadu counselling
Highlights
CMC is described in its prospectus as an unaided Christian minority institution. The medical degree affiliation and the category through which a student is admitted are separate from this ownership description. A private institution can have government-quota seats; that does not turn it into a government college.
| Label | How to interpret it |
|---|---|
| Affiliation | The prospectus identifies Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University for MBBS and several degree programmes. Verify the exact course and campus. |
| Recognition or permission | Check the professional regulator for the exact qualification and admission year. A general institutional description is not a current programme permission order. |
| Minority status | Relevant to particular admission categories; it does not establish eligibility for every seat. |
| NIRF rank | An institution-level result for a named year and category, not accreditation or a seat guarantee. |
Do not combine Vellore and Chittoor nursing information. The prospectus gives a separate 2026 admission route for Chittoor, and its fees are listed in a different table. A similarly named programme can therefore require different application checks.
- Which university awards this exact qualification?
- Is this campus included in the current recognition or affiliation letter?
- Which category should I select, and which certificates establish that category?
- Does the advertised duration include internship, staff-nurse training and any service obligation?
