CMC Vellore Cutoffs
MBBS: NEET-UG, CMC category conditions and applicable Tamil Nadu counselling
Cut-off & rank interpretation
There is no single cut-off that describes admission to every CMC course or category. An entrance qualifying threshold answers whether an applicant clears a basic examination condition. An allotment rank describes a particular admission process, category and round. Neither promises a seat in the next year.
A complete, checked set of CMC category-wise closing ranks is not included in this release. The Tamil Nadu portal publishes dated allotment lists, but a list containing retained and upgraded candidates needs careful interpretation before its last rank is labelled a closing cut-off.
| Field | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Admission year | Scores and applicant numbers vary between years. |
| Course and campus | MBBS ranks cannot be used for nursing or postgraduate specialties. |
| Quota and category | Open, government, Minority Network and staff routes are not interchangeable. |
| Round and list status | A tentative list, revised list and final allotment answer different questions. |
| Rank type | State rank, category rank and NEET all-India rank use different denominators. |
| Score and source | Record the published number with the original document and date. |

Compare like-for-like admission evidence
A useful cutoff comparison keeps the programme, year, round, quota, rank system and allotted-seat category together. A NEET qualifying mark establishes an examination threshold; it does not establish a college closing rank. Tamil Nadu general rank and NEET All India Rank are different measures. Candidate community also differs from allotted-seat category, because a candidate may obtain a seat through another eligible category. The historical observations retained below keep their source labels. They are not predictions, final admitted-student records or a promise that the same result will recur. No trend chart is drawn from incompatible rank systems.
