Student experience: what to ask
This page contains an editorial interview guide, not student testimonials. No anonymous star rating, first-hand campus visit or verified-student review is claimed in this release.
Speak with students from the same programme and, if possible, different years. A final-year medical student can answer questions about clinical rotations that a first-year allied-health student may not be able to assess. Ask for examples from a recent month rather than a general opinion about whether the college is good.
- What does a normal week include: lectures, practical work, postings, travel and self-study?
- How soon do faculty respond when you need help understanding a topic or skill?
- What did your actual recent hostel and mess bill include?
- How easy is it to reach the library, hospital and your hostel after scheduled work?
- How are health problems, harassment concerns and academic difficulties handled?
- What do you wish you had understood about the service commitment before joining?
- Check the programme and years attended.
- Separate personal preference from a checkable claim about fees or rules.
- Look for repeated, specific observations from independent people.
- Treat a promotional testimonial or isolated complaint as one perspective.
- Do not publish private records or patient details to prove a story.
A useful published review should carry the contributor’s consent, programme, study period, submission date and any disclosed relationship. Until that material is collected, practical questions are more honest than invented praise.
