A faculty list should be read with the teaching process. Ask who supervises practical groups, who provides clinical feedback, how assessments are standardised and how students contact an academic mentor. Senior titles or a high publication count do not independently establish the amount of undergraduate teaching time.
For postgraduate applicants, examine the unit’s case mix, research-supervision arrangements, thesis process and opportunities to present work. Discuss the practical expectations of residency before comparing programmes by reputation alone.
