Documented Medical ranking
| Ranking | Year | Category | Position |
|---|---|---|---|
| NIRF India Rankings | 2024 | Medical | 15 |
Source: AIIMS Bhubaneswar Annual Report 2024–25, PDF page 11. This is a dated ranking; it is not labelled as a 2026 result.
A position in Medical and a position in Overall describe separate comparisons. Neither should be substituted for the other. A submitted NIRF data return is also distinct from a ranking award. We retain the year with the figure so applicants can compare the same category and publication cycle.
AIIMS Bhubaneswar rankings and institutional evidence
The institute publishes NIRF material for several years and categories. A submitted institutional dataset and an awarded rank are separate records.
Read rankings without mixing categories
Always identify the ranking organisation, publication year and category before comparing institutions. A Medical ranking should not be silently substituted with an Overall or Research position. Even a recognised institution can have different results across categories because the measures and participating institutions differ.
A data submission is useful for understanding institutional reporting, but its presence alone does not prove a particular awarded rank. Keep submissions, final ranking tables and promotional summaries in separate columns in your research file. If a year is missing from a comparison, leave the gap instead of estimating an intermediate result.
For students, rankings are one input alongside the course, cost, location, learning environment and admission route. A numerical position does not describe a particular hostel room or guarantee an individual career outcome. Prefer comparisons that connect the institution-level measure with your actual educational needs.
A historical trend chart should use the same category across years and label the direction of improvement clearly. Since a smaller rank number usually represents a better position, a graph can be misleading if its axis or labels are not explained. Do not convert rank into a percentage score.
At a glance
| Record | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Institutional submission | Reported data and participation context |
| Awarded rank | Requires the published final ranking and year |
| Category | Medical, Overall and Research are distinct |
| Trend | Compare the same category without filling missing years |
Your next steps
- Record the organisation, category and year together.
- Keep submitted data separate from a ranking award.
- Use course and cost comparisons alongside ranking context.
- Read the chart labels before drawing a trend conclusion.
